Berlin authorities hired 64 people to hunt for people renting out apartments on a short-term basis: http://www.berliner-zeitung.de/berlin/airbnb-berlin-erhoeht-druck-auf-vermittler-von-ferienwohnungen-26772714
Imagine if they put those people to work on finding ways to increase supply of affordable housing!
@pinkprius I'm of the view that we need more options when it comes to accommodation, including short + medium term rentals, rather than reducing options.
In the long term, I find it hard to believe that banning Airbnb & co will have much (or any) impact on generating a supply of affordable housing.
@thomascarney Well, any regulations or laws are useless in this city without control.
